Southern Mac & Cheese

This Southern macaroni and cheese with cream of mushroom soup and mayonnaise is a comforting twist on a classic. Its creamy texture and rich flavor make it a standout side dish for any occasion. Whether you're serving it at a family dinner or bringing it to a potluck, it’s sure to be a hit.

 

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz Pasta, cooked (I use elbow pasta)
  • 4-6 cups of sharp cheddar cheese I used 3 cups extra sharp cheddar cheese and 2 cups Italian Blend (Feel free to use your own favorite variety of cheeses and be sure to save some for the top)
  • 1 cup Mayo (I use Dukes)
  • 2 TBSP Melted Butter 
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 small can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 Sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed

Directions:

  1. Mix pasta, cheese, mayo, cream of mushroom soup, melted butter, salt and pepper together. (Reserve some cheese to layer on top of mixture before adding the ritz crackers)
  2. Crush the Ritz crackers and mix with the melted butter then place on top of macaroni and cheese
  3. Bake at 350 until golden and bubbly, approximately 30-40 minutes
